Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Tahira Nisar has dedicated her life to making a positive impact through her work as an Occupational Therapist. Inspired by a passion for helping others overcome physical, psychiatric, and sensory challenges, Tahira embarked on a journey of education and professional growth that has spanned diverse settings and populations.
Driven by a desire to contribute to healthcare, Tahira pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), from 2010 to 2014. During her academic years, she not only maintained full attendance but also served as the Class Representative for the Batch 2010-2014 and earned the title of Best Graduate.
Post-graduation, Tahira delved into her professional journey, showcasing exceptional skills in dealing with both pediatric and adult patients. From her role as an Occupational Therapist Consultant at the Institute of Behavioural Psychology, Karachi, to her tenure at The Circle-Caring for Children and the Department of Psychiatry at A.Q. Khan Centre, Dow University Hospital, Tahira’s expertise in handling sensory integration dysfunctions stood out.
She continued her impactful work at The Recovery House, which is psych rehab and drug rehab centre, and later as a Consultant at The Circle-Caring for Children in Karachi. In 2020, she transitioned to home therapy sessions, demonstrating her adaptability to various setups. Notably, Tahira served as a Senior Occupational Therapist at the Karachi Down Syndrome Program and the AMI School Project – PAAR, before joining Coral Coast Physiotherapy and Allied Health Clinic in December 2023.
Tahira’s commitment to continuous learning is evident in her pursuit of an MBA Executive at the Institute of Business Administration from 2019 to 2023. She balances her professional and academic endeavors with enthusiasm and organizational prowess.
Outside her professional life, Tahira engages in socializing, reading novels and self-grooming books, and watching informative movies and videos. She enjoys outdoor games such as badminton, throw ball, and table tennis, showcasing her energetic and physically fit lifestyle. Tahira also finds joy in contributing to her community through volunteer work and community service.
Married and raising two children, Tahira Nisar embodies the qualities of an Occupational Therapist with excellent interpersonal skills, creativity, determination, and compassion. Her journey is marked by a continuous pursuit of excellence, both professionally and personally.
